ANTLER
ICICLE ORACLE

Oak leaf frozen
in a three-foot icicle
Its brown color
absorbing sunlight
Causing melting
inside the icicle
Descending to its tip
to drip
So the icicle began melting
from the inside out
More than from
the outside in
So by noon
so much water
Trickled out
the icicle
Was hollow inside
and by dark
When cold returned
the dripping froze
Creating an icicle
suspended from the oak leaf
Inside the larger icicle,
an icicle within an icicle!
