LINE DANCING
Poems by Lawrence Carradini

When does inside out become
too much -
The speaking of ones deaths,

emotion.
The voicing of each failure -

"success"
becomes a silent springboard
at times.

We wear our voice in our
hair -
In our

pants -

our
eyes.

We wear our hearts

out.

Place another page

in the
sleeve.

They say a poet writes
because "said" cannot "not"
write.

Until she does -

become
personification.

"Become"
with each word
on
the

page ( a grave filled with unseen

bones).

The fabricator carves out
bones -
builds
a skeleton.

If done well,
the reader
seize the beast.

Mirrors become less friendly
with age.

In truth, the mirror is just
a mirror.

It is the beholder
that would prefer
not to see.

Enough bones can build a palace
in which these skeletons can
assemble.

These bones get up and
dance

which is our life.
