Angelo Verga
IN A HOTEL RESTAURANT IN KEY LARGO

At the bad husband’s buffet
The tallest guy commits a long-winded prayer.

The biker dudes with helmets jammed
Between their surgically repaired legs
Take over all the best window seats.

Mini royal palm trees, synthetic breeze
Latticed lime pies to rub out a boss of bosses for.

And in the central seats are the nannies
They speak bikini; it is
The only language they need.

ANGELO VERGA is the author of seven collections of poetry, the most recent being Long & Short, including The Street in Your Head (2016). Available on Amazon.com.  He has been published widely here & abroad. Verga resides in Manhattan.
