B. Z. Niditch

HART CRANE'S HOUR

Despite all mystery
for your departure
trembling by waters
and Florida's
of youth fountains,
your footprints
uncover the snow
on the Brooklyn Bridge
making your reason
an intimacy
of braving feelings
of signs,fate,discovery
in your mutable traces
of unseen gray mornings
as a new generation
will open safe conduct
passports, unafraid
because of you,Hart.

BZ Niditch's new poetry collections are "Captive Cities", Presa Press, "Fugitive Poet" The Moon Publishing, "Lorca at Sevilla," March St. Press, and a memoir "What I Think of You" The Moon Publishing.
