I am here
making my entrance
on my back, floundering
like an upturned turtle
hands and feet sprawling,
legs spread apart
announcing my gender.
I am Here
I am like all the babies
in all the nurseries.
I am different from all
the babies in the nurseries.
I am unique
but they are also unique,
for every birth is a miracle.
I am here.
Let my feet wander the earth,
let my brain gather images in wonder,
I am worthy. I am extraordinary.
I am here.
