Bob Hayes

NOW

When I need to calm my soul,
I listen to words written in great songs.

Years ago, Marvin Gaye sang,
“What’s goin’ on?”
Today, we are still asking that same question.

George Harrison, asked,
“Can you see beyond yourself?”

And John Lennon chanted words of hope,
“Imagine all the people, living life in peace.”

So, right now,
We need to ask “What’s goin’ on?”
We need to “See beyond ourselves.”
We need to “Imagine”,
to truly begin “Living life in peace.”

Now!

Bob Hayes first began writing Poetry in 2012. He was inspired by some wonderful Long Island poets he heard read in workshops. He is a member of Bard’s, LIWG and PPA Long Island writing organizations. His work has been published in the Long Island Quarterly, Suffolk County Poetry Review and Bard’s Annual. Bob has enjoyed being a life-long resident of Long Island. Being close to the beautiful Great South Bay, the nautical setting brings inspiration to his writing. Also, much of his poetry is inspired by those people who make a difference in another person’s life path.
