CYCLE

Midnight spins
A star splashes red streaks
swelling

A tiny head rams
the gauntlet of blood and water

arrives to blinding light
uncoils

struts this refuge
between ether and bedrock

where Time breaks bone
to dust

and rapture disintegrates at sundown
on streamers of silk

No matter this death

Black holes implode
Stars erupt

Again

the metallic gleam
of a bird wing angles

across our morning
