Charles J Butler
DOWN A WAYS ‘N UP THE ROAD

you
    were
           in a coffin
you
weren't real
                   I knew
you
as fury
       passion of light
and
  blackest
        night
this
thing in
          a box
was
not
    you
       just what
is
left
     behind
          and it was
all
i had
so I said
goodbye
                cried some
and tried
          to be
                 the man
you wanted
                me to be
