thinking about
green pumpkin seeds
the color titian
the word orange
a castle we saw at the lake
that was in point of fact
some wayward cloud in the sky
being chased as we are still
being chased past
hay-bales drying in the field
fellow calabash
we are all seeds
call the diggers
feel the dirt
the dig-spot
and the holy shovel blade
vine to leaf
dipped in shroud of mist
we are all magic
tied and waiting
on this slow deck
run sky run
while you can
make the birds blush
and the trees laugh
