Josephine Dickinson

VISION …

You are gone before
I hear you, I can-
not count your young
as you gather them round
you, stand on the points

of 'v's on the black water,
whirr, disappear in the silence
of trees in the shade
near the stones where
mimulus flames

JOSEPHINE DICKINSON'S poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Independent on Sunday, Poetry Review and others. Her books include Silence Fell (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2007) and Night Journey (Flambard 2008).
