WINTER 2007

Winter 2006-7

Two Poems by Alan Semerdjian

WE MAKE THEM UP AND FIRE THEM OFF

for myspace

These abstract people This living in a world
This ghost haunted by ghost
This life after shade
This naked in the sun
This committed
This irrevocably committed

This reflection in the window
of the car in the spot
on the driveway of the house
around the corner
the neighborhood the village
the town the country the world

This search engine
There is no ceasing
This search engine
This mining for ourselves
These faces all ready delivered
These far off places
We make them up
And fire them off

These really abstract people
We make them up
And fire ourselves in
These abstract people
These real and abstract people
On the screen and in the world.
