WINTER 2018-2019

Mary Jane Tenerelli

My boy is on a bunk
In a cage.
The light in his hair
Is the sick yellow
Of virus,
Of monotony,
Of everyday despair.
He is thinking of how
To get up there.
He dreams of his face pressed
Against the glass.
There might be pine trees
With snow,
Or a bird.
