YOU CAN’T ALWAYS TRUST YOUR FINGERS

On the keyboard
or digging sand at the ocean,
fingers wander and make mistakes
Like the time I ripped a check in half
or that five dollar bill
How many pairs of pantyhose
The endless eyeliner errors
The smudged ink
But I think
the worst misuse, I say that now,
was the time,
you remember, don’t you,
I pointed in your direction,
pointed you into oblivion
pointed at the hurt,
walked away,
gloved my hand.
