Hal Sirowitz

I don’t have a job where I can
whistle while I work, father said.
In fact, I can’t even hum. What
am I supposed to do – boycott
Walt Disney or my job? I just
take it in stride, knowing
that the songs from Hollywood
are not about me. They’re
not about anyone. They’re
only true for Mickey Mouse
and friends. The rest of us
will never get over the rainbow.
On the other side are just clouds.
